If I could rate negative stars I would, majority of the nurses are useless mean girls who clearly hate their jobs. Would not check on my mom for countless hours. Grateful for the handful of nurses who did their jobs, but most of the staff treat work like a social gathering rather than their job. 👎🏻
I’ve had to be there a couple times now. Most of the staff is very helpful especially once you see what they deal with day in and day out. The nurses are great, the people in therapy and the ones who run the activities are amazing. The food….. Well it’s edible usually
Not very well ran. Food not very good. They forgot to set transportation for orthopedic appointment twice in a row. The nurses have favorite patients
Here at Bakersfield post acute all the staff was great helped me so much. I looked forward to therapy here. I’m sad to leave here my stay was great. I really enjoyed being here. I want to give the cans a big shoutout for always helping me. They showed me true kindness and love here.
Everyone here was incredibly helpful and welcoming from start to finish, and had a great overall vibe. I had a really positive experience and would definitely recommend it!

I am/was a resident of this facility The staff are rude and don’t respond when you call for them. The food is gross and they have little to select from. I couldn’t even get a chicken salad. The doctor only goes once a month. They do not take care of there patients.
I loved everything about this place. Staff, nurses, activities to therapy and cooks were great.
Does anyone have a different number? I’m trying to sort out my moms medication because she was sent home with all of this stuff even vials of medication with no syringe. I’m trying to figure how I give my these meds and they don’t answer. They also sent her home with mens jeans and a baby jacket.
I wouldn’t recommend. My mom was here for about a month. She had her toes amputated and within 4 days of being here they showered her and hit her very freshly amputated foot. She was in severe pain and they would just tell her if she was in severe pain to go to the hospital instead of giving her pain meds. The wound nurses would document they changed dressing when they did not. My brother had to ask the lady’s to change it to where one of the nurse said ” you can take your mom home and do it”. The 2nd time they showered her they got her wrapping wet and broke her skin graft that went over her open wound. Now she has to have a second procedure to put a new one. The dr goes 1 a month and takes forever to communicate. You call and try to get connect with people and they never answer. I tried to discharge my mom and they were basically saying they weren’t going to give her home health or no medication because it wasn’t a “Safe Discharge” . She signed out (ama) & is doing better & looks better than she did when she was there.
I give this facility a 5 star. Everyone is so welcoming and staff are amazing!!
Do I regret going home yes and no! Bakersfield post acute has been my home for a month. Everyone has been so friendly, So dedicated to a job that often gets no thanks. And sicenity in giving that reflects a deep satisfaction in the job they preform. All personal gets a five stars from. Office workers,Rns,CNA’S, kitchen, maintenance and house keeping. And everyone I may have left out. The food is delicious with well prepared mean- plus snacks if you want them. I’ve never had a sour face when wanting more or something different it was always “of course you can” The activities center is a blessing if you only get out of bed and participate. A good way to socialize and relive the boredom in your room. Therapy is great! They aren’t here to cure you, but rather to help and to improve your heath and shorten the time of your stay to return home. It’s all up to you and the effort you give yourself. I will miss you all!! As I leave and return home. You’ve all made my experience very exceptional and I bless each of you for you caring affection and attention. I do recommend Bakersfield Post Acute to future people seeking a good rehab facility I certainly do- the first on my suggested list! Gordon Miller
Please whatever you do, do not leave your loved ones here. I feel bad for the patients that are in there with no way to get out. This pictures are deceiving! Rooms are crap. Dusty, chairs have stains on them, no AC in the rooms. This nurse called stating “is 85 OXYGEN normal for him? Oh nevermind his oxygen is 90 now” why would they call to worry us. My family member was here for not even two days and was rushed to the hospital. his cpap had no water, nurse stated “idk what happened”. I called to check on my family member the lady stated “I don’t have details for you” well can you go figure it out for me? I specifically told the nurse before my family member left the facility in an ambulance to make sure all the belongings were with my family. He only arrived to the hospital with his phone and glasses. they didn’t even have his medical history in the system. If you want your family member to live please do not leave them here, we regret not doing our research before sending him here
We had several issues with call lights that I personally witnessed. Taking longer then 15 min to answer. As we were being discharged the med tech hastily signed moms meds out. After doing inventory at home found she was missing a prescribed pain killer only to have to return to the facility to further find it was a large scrip she hadent got. Asking to talk to the highest ranking person in the facility to find there was no one on shift no supervision for the whole weekend. Very sad
My boyfriend got ran over about a month and a week ago buy a City truck and was placed here can you believe they called him on Christmas Eve to let him know the day after Christmas he must leave not having a place to go to they couldn’t tell him ahead of time why couldn’t they tell him before why on Christmas Eve just to have to leave the day after Christmas?! Of course nobody will be working to help him or answer any questions while he was there someone stole from him as well one of the workers this place is a joke
I had a family member who was here for a couple of weeks and she told me how much she suffered here. They lied that they showered her 3 times. My grandma said only once which is why she complained . Keep in mind she does not suffer of Alzheimer’s so she knows exactly what is going on. When we weren’t able to visit her she mentioned they wouldn’t come by to even check on her just to bring her food. She tried calling them when she was in pain to get pills and nobody swung by and she mentioned she kept pressing the button until the person she shares the room with got a hold of someone they came right away . Another time she had to call us from her cellphone to tell us they hadn’t changed her in hours . We had to go over there and when we got there she was in fact not changed. She mentioned this to social worker. We took her out of there and took care of her at home instead. Think twice before you put a family member here. People who work here need to be more compassionate and attentive. The other reviews also say they wouldn’t come by to give them their medication and that right there says a lot. Seen the review that says they ignore call buttons. That is accurate are pick and choose which is sad and shows the CNA are not doing their job.
My sister was transferred into this facility after a week and a half at Heart Hospital in Bakersfield when she got there she was told her medication would be on time. She wrythed in pain for close to six hours and then was told that there’s no way they could get her medicine to her. This was was from the charge nurse. I then asked to speak to a supervisor and she said no supervisor is on that shift. my sister ring call bell twice and someone disconnected it from the wall. She ended up having to be transferred out and back to heart hospital in Bakersfield I’m filing a complaint with Kaiser. I’m filing a complaint with adult protective services and I’m gonna see that the California licensing board is aware of this incident. This is the most ridiculous care that I have ever encountered in my life and I’m a retired nurse of 30 years and I teach nursing I am so dismayed by the performance of this hospital. UPDATE. filed a report with Kaiser also I’m trying to contact Mark Hancock and Jason Murray, who owned part of this hospital when I called the number it just rings and rings and rings.
My wife had a bad problem with her knee surgery pain, our doctor was the best. Had to go to rehab for this. The care from all hear is outstanding. I would recommend anyone needing to go to rehab to come here. 5 stars for Bakersfield Post Acute.
My husband was not there 6 hours and nothing. He came from MAJOR UNUSUAL HEART surgery. They couldn’t even give him a urinal to pee. Nevermind they never came to do his PT or give him his medication. Within a 12 hour period he left and came home and went by ambulance to ER. He has pneumonia and if he didn’t leave he would have not had a chance. All the staff were at the station blowing us off. If my husband would have stayed there he would be DEAD! They took no care of him in his very fragile state. Highly recommend not to put your loved one here. Totally a disappointment! The pictures on the website are fraud. Doesn’t look even close to the facility.
From what I see in the pictures, and activities, this would be a wonderful place to live! I am going to get a tour of this place as soon as I can. I want to come back to Bakersfield, my home town!
My family member recently received skilled care at Bakersfield Post Acute. Our family visited the facility multiple times a day during this time. I have an understanding of how this facility operates and can provide a fair and honest review. The therapy they received was helpful and productive to their healing. They learned new things during each session and felt motivated to succeed. We encountered several workers deserving recognition for their dedication and care. Deontranay is a CNA who works the knock shift (10 PM – 6 AM). Providing outstanding care during this challenging shift, she checked in on them consistently every night she worked. They spoke highly of Deontranay every morning after she had helped them the night before, praising her exceptional dedication. Aliyah, a nurse at the facility, was professional, and consistently performed her job well. She always checked on them when passing by, even when busy. Last, Sarah was a helpful CNA who was sweet and kind. Nessie (Director of Nursing) and Arlene promptly addressed and corrected our concerns. While the facility may have areas for improvement, I believe they are actively working towards the common goal of supporting and helping families. I do recommend it.
